Souris Gets Ready for a Chic, New Chicken Chef
Lisa and Baird Murray, both originating from southwest Manitoba, are ready to impress with their elegant design and vibrant colour schemes in their new Chicken Chef venture. As Lisa serves as the visionary behind the design, they have an exciting secret to share with their patrons. However, you’ll need to visit to unravel the mystery!
The Murray duo is partnering with their long-time mentors, Rosie and Brent Plaisier. The Plaisiers, famed for running a successful Chicken Chef in Virden for over two decades, have transitioned into consultants after retiring. Jeff Epp, president of Chicken Chef Canada, insisted they stay on board to provide their expertise in quality assurance, menu planning, and marketing.
With the Plaisiers sharing the opportunity of the Souris franchise with them, the Murrays took the reins and initiated an ambitious renovation project, involving many local contractors and suppliers. Emphasizing the “shop local” philosophy, they believe in reciprocating the support they receive from their community.
Chicken Chef, a family-owned business since its first franchise in Carmen, Manitoba in 1978, has expanded into over thirty communities in Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. With Souris’ charm and a history with Chicken Chef, Epp believes the town is primed for another thriving franchise. The Murrays have recruited over twenty staff members, ensuring each one is well-versed in the Chicken Chef standards.
While the exact opening date remains undisclosed as they await some deliveries, it’s anticipated to be by the end of February. Watch for the much-awaited “open” sign and the paper unveiling from the windows.
In Epp’s words, “We stick to our motto, be where it always feels like home, where memories are made.” So, keep your eyes peeled for the grand reveal of Souris’ new star attraction, Chicken Chef.
